WOODEN HANGBOARDS AND FINGERBOARDS FOR CLIMBING

Escalador en roca natural

CRAFTSMANSHIP

Plastic dominates the climbing world. We believe there is a better alternative: natural, recyclable, local and with a character of its own. Our mission is to prove that sustainability and high performance are not opposites – and we do it piece by piece, product by product.

CIRCULAR

At Treemers we turn wood offcuts into functional, durable, high-quality climbing holds, hangboards and volumes. What used to be waste becomes, in our hands, the hold that helps you send your next project. That is how we see the circular economy: not as a marketing claim, but as the starting point for everything we do.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What wood are Treemers products made from?

Most of our holds, boards and edges are made from beech wood, chosen for its firmness, durability and skin-friendly feel. Some specific products, such as the Avocado mono pocket, use recycled iroko wood.

Is the wood sustainable? Is it recycled?

Yes. Treemers was born from the circular economy: we reuse leftover wood from traditional carpentry workshops and turn it into climbing gear. This approach is part of the ECOCLIMBING project, developed with the support of the Catalan Waste Agency (Agència de Residus de Catalunya, ARC).

Why wooden holds rather than resin or plastic?

Because wood is kinder to your skin (less abrasive during long sessions), has a natural feel that climbers love and allows for a sustainable production model, unlike plastic – the dominant and polluting material in the climbing world.

Where are Treemers products made?

They are handcrafted in Manresa (Catalonia, Spain), at the foot of Montserrat, one of Spain’s great climbing meccas.

How do I care for a wooden hold or hangboard?

Keep it somewhere dry and avoid prolonged damp and direct sunlight. Clean it with a dry brush to remove chalk and, if it loses its grip, very fine sandpaper will restore the texture. With basic care, beech wood will last for years of intensive use.
