FAQs
What kind of wood are Treemers products made of?
Most of our holds, boards, and hangboards are made of beech wood, chosen for its firmness, durability, and skin-friendly feel. Some specific products, such as the Aguacate monofinger, use recycled iroko wood.
Is wood sustainable? Is it recycled?
Yes. Treemers is born from the circular economy: we reuse leftover wood from traditional carpentry shops to transform it into climbing material. This approach is part of the ECOCLIMBING project, developed with the support of the Catalan Waste Agency (ARC).
Why wooden holds and not resin or plastic?
Because wood is kinder to the skin (less abrasive during long sessions), has a natural feel highly valued by climbers, and allows for a sustainable production model compared to plastic, which is the dominant—and polluting—material in the climbing world.
Where are Treemers products manufactured?
They are handcrafted in Manresa (Catalonia, Spain), at the foot of Montserrat, one of the national climbing meccas.
How do I care for and maintain a wooden dam or board?
Keep it in a dry place and avoid prolonged moisture and direct sun exposure. Clean it with a dry brush to remove magnesium, and if it loses its grip, a very fine sandpaper will restore its texture. With basic care, beechwood can withstand years of intensive use.
